Life for me began in Buffalo, NY home of snow covered winters and a surprisingly wonderful mix of food that instilled hunger early on. Both my parents were dietitians, so food was naturally a way of life, not just for sustainability of chubby kid-cheeks. When you combine roots like that and the best place for food shopping experiences in the country (Wegmans), a kid whose destiny is written in the plates has no other way of going.
My childhood brought out a love for music, but also interestingly enough horses too. Now while cooking, horses and music don’t all go together seamlessly, they do represent culture and in a lot of ways, artistic expression too. These three passions have always consumed my life, with one in particular which seems to take on the starring role, and defines a period of growth and fulfillment for myself.
At this point of my life however, I have found that everything has lead up to this exact moment and the person I am today. My bucket list only continues to grow, so it was about time to take a passion for food and turn it into something truly special. It’s about taking the recipes and knowledge I have, and putting it into a resource where my friends and family could be inspired since they have done so much of that for me already. It’s about putting those recipes I’ve been collecting and putting them to use with my own spin. But it’s also about continuing my learning through travel, eating out, classes and all things food.
Experiences give way to adventures, and eventually passions that we can enjoy and recreate if we’re lucky enough. I’m all about living life to the fullest and exploring my passions to share with others such as yourself.
“Think what a better world it would be if we all-the whole world-had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap…. And it is still true, no matter how old you are-when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.” – Robert Fulghum
So while you join me on my passions that I’m able to recreate and share with you, all I ask is that you find happiness and lighthearted-ness here and on your journeys.
